Micromax rolls out JB4.2 for Canvas HD

Good news for Canvas HD users: Micromax has announced Jelly Bean 4.2 update for their Micromax A116 Canvas HD. You can grab it by visiting the Micromax Service center. In the recent past, Micromax had given 4.1.1 update for its most popular handset, Micromax A110 aka Canvas 2.  In Jelly Bean 4.2 on the A116, Micromax has enabled external storage usage. Thus with 4.2 you will be able to move and install apps on external storage. There is a high probability that new A116 stocks might come pre-loaded with android 4.2 OS.



As Micromax has changed their FTP user / password, we cannot download and install it ourselves. But sooner or later, official Micromax A116 Android 4.2 is going to be uploaded on some other server by one of smart guys.

Oooh!! how could I miss to tell you the most overwhelming thing that along with this 4.2 update OTA updates (Over the Air) is also going to be enabled. With OTA, Micromax can roll out any further OS version/updates and users can install them directly from their handset.  So in future Micromax may also roll out the 4.3 version for A116, which you can capture right from our handset without going to service center.
But to get 4.2 on A116 for now, you need to visit Micromax service center.

I have also contacted Micromax for any such possible update for A110. They said that it may take some time, but it will be there for sure. So there is a hope for Canvas2 users also. Further they even confirmed that  update for Canvas HD will also take some time to reach each and every service center.

      No.
      It would be a fair deal if you get it between 7000-7800 INR. I got it at 7900INR 20 days back. Its a normal phone with JBL headset. No special fetures in phone itself to be called as music phone.

    apart from the 5 inch screen and the 8 Mp camera does the canvas 2 offer other advantages over canvas music..?? is it worthwhile to spend 2000 bucks more and go for the canvas 2 if i am not that much into photography..?? please help mr sibin..

      If camera and screen size doesn't matters for you, then you go for for music bro. Its having same processor, more pixel density, advanced OS 4.1.

      Its not a wise to say its good or bad without any reference point. As such its a good product @ 14-14.5K.
